Paprika Sweet

Sweet paprika has a fruity flavour with an earthy undertone and just a hint of bitterness. Its intense orangey red colour makes it an eye catching addition when sprinkled on eggs, omlettes or fish after cooking and on meats shortly before cooking is finished.

Sweet paprika is the mandatory ingredient in Hungarian Goulash and can also be used to good effect in winter vegetable stews

One of our favourite uses for sweet paprika is as a substitute for chilli in South Asian, Mexican or North African dishes where it can be used to add the flavour of chilli without any of the heat.

Stored correctly in Kitchen Herbarry packaging sweet paprika will keep its quality of flavour and colour for up to three years.

Fun Fact: It takes about 5kg of ripe fruits to create 1kg of paprika powder. The fruits are dried in the sun for around 12 days before grinding.
