Marjoram

Dried marjoram has a grassy, savoury flavour with a slight pleasant bitterness and mild camphorous notes. Whilst closely related to oregano its flavour profile is quite distinct and more subtle.

Marjoram's flavour is best when used in the dried form and when used in isolation works well with eggs and lightly cooked fish. It complements other herbs such as thyme and sage when used in stuffings and mixed with a little parsley makes a wonderful herb bread.

Stored correctly in Kitchen Herbarry packaging dried marjoram will keep its quality of flavour for up to two years.

Fun Fact: In Ancient Rome, marjoram was know as the herb of happiness.
